Study Tour to Brussels
A delegation from the Ministry of Agriculture and Food Industry (MAIA), the Agency for Intervention and Payments for Agriculture (AIPA), and the National Food Safety Agency (ANSA) participated in a study tour to Brussels from May 19-23, 2025. Organized by the German-Moldovan Agricultural Policy Dialogue (APD Moldova), the study tour aimed at strengthening the institutional dialogue between the most relevant EU institutions and the Moldovan agricultural administration.

The Moldovan delegation was led by State Secretary Mrs. Alexandra Sian, and included senior representatives from the MAIA, AIPA, and ANSA. The delegation visited various Directorates of the European Commission, the Council, the European Parliament, the Moldovan Mission to the EU and the German Permanent Representation to the EU, as well as Copa-Cogeca, the umbrella organization representing the interests of farmers and agricultural cooperatives across the EU. The program featured exclusive briefings, high-level discussions, and guided visits in the EU institutions. These exchanges offered a unique opportunity to engage directly with EU officials and policymakers, fostering a deeper understanding of the EU’s agricultural priorities, and reform trajectories. The dialogue offered the Moldovan delegation the opportunity to address key aspects of the ongoing screening process. In view of the bilateral screening meetings of the
MAIA and the European Commission to be held between June and September 2025, the study tour provided another opportunity to promote Moldovan agriculture.
Over the course of the visit, the delegation gained strategic insights into the current Common Agricultural Policy (CAP) for the current period 2023–2027, as well as into the emerging vision for the post-2028 CAP. In addition, participants had the opportunity to familiarize themselves with the procedures related to the formulation, consultation, and adoption of the Multiannual Financial Framework (MFF).
This visit underscores the importance of continued EU – Moldova dialogue and cooperation as the country advances its European integration process.
