The third Policy Brief in the APD Moldova series focuses on how the European Union ensures the delivery of public goods in agriculture through effective governance systems for plant and animal health, food safety, animal welfare, and environmental protection. Building on the experiences of EU Member States, the publication examines the institutional and operational mechanisms that enable the implementation and enforcement of the EU’s Statutory Management Requirements (SMRs).

The 2^nd Policy Brief in the APD Moldova series focuses on the experiences from the EU Member States on agricultural institutions and building administrative capacities. Doing so, the policy brief focuses on the first two priority areas defined under the 5-layered recommendation structure of the 1^st policy brief.

1. Presentation of Chapter 12: Food safety, veterinary and phytosanitary policy – The rationale and the systems of the framework for the protection of human, animal and plant health in the EU
