Second Year of APD Moldova
Pursuing the goal of advancing Moldova’s agricultural preparedness for EU accession, 2025 was yet another eventful year for the German-Moldovan Agricultural Policy Dialogue (www.apd-moldova.de) and for our partners: the Ministry of Agriculture and Food Industry, the Agency for Interventions and Payment in Agriculture, the National Food Safety Agency, and the Technical University of Moldova.
The year was marked by the bilateral screening meetings on Chapters 11 (agriculture and rural development), 12 (food safety), and 13 (fisheries) between the Moldovan agricultural administration and the European Commission. APD provided full support throughout the entire preparation process.
Translating knowledge into practice, aligning national agri-food policies and sectoral priorities with European requirements and standards, and supporting institutional capacity-building remained APD’s central commitment. APD’s activities and events, such as the study tours, multiple workshops, EU mentoring groups, policy briefs, and in-country expert missions, led to measurable progress in the capacities of national agricultural authorities.
Together with the Ministry of Agriculture and Food Industry of the Republic of Moldova, supported by the German Federal Ministry of Agriculture, Food and Regional Identity (BMLEH) and the members of the Moldovan Agri-food Partnership Platform, we will continue to solidify the governance in agriculture with special attention on EU-aligned farm advisory services, providing targeted support on building a strong agricultural risk management framework in Moldova and other endeavors.
The APD mission supporting Moldova’s course toward EU accession continues—built on collaboration, driven by knowledge, and guided by a shared European vision.
