2nd EU Mentoring Group on market intervention

This session focused on public intervention and private storage, two instruments of the Common Market Organization (CMO) to stabilise agriculture markets within the EU. The nearly 30 participants benefitted from two experts of the Geman and Austrian paying agencies: (i) Mr. Marc Unger; Deputy Head of Unit for Market Organisation and Crisis Measures at the Federal Office of Food and Agriculture of Germany and (ii) Mr. Alois Luger, Head of Unit for Market Measures at the AgrarMarkt Austria. Both experts provided a snapshot of the historical importance and development as well as on the EU and national legislation, relevant actions for preparedness, and procedures of implementation.

This session led to a fruitful exchange of knowledge, fostering collaboration, and promoting the understanding of market interventions crucial for the harmonisation of the Moldovan agriculture sector with the EU.
