4th EU Mentoring Group
On December 5, 2024, APD Moldova hosted the fourth session of the EU Mentoring Group, continuing its mission to strengthen the Agricultural Administration of the Republic of Moldova through valuable exchanges of experience and knowledge with EU Member States.
This session brought together representatives from the Ministry of Agriculture and Food Industry, the Agency for Intervention and Payments for Agriculture, and the National Agency for Food Safety. The meeting focused on “Official controls under Regulation (EU) 2017/625 concerning official controls and other official activities to ensure the application of food and feed law, rules on animal health and welfare, plant health, and plant protection products.”
The group benefited from the long and distinguished expertise of:
- Josef Svoboda, representative of the Central Institute for Supervising and Testing in Agriculture of the Czech Republic, who shared insights into the Czech Republic’s experiences with implementing EU regulations on animal feed and plant protection products.
- Magdalena Kuzawińska, a senior expert from the Department of Food Safety and Veterinary Matters at the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development of Poland, who discussed official controls performed by the Veterinary Inspection, emphasizing food safety, animal health, and welfare.
The interactive discussions provided participants with practical insights and highlighted the importance of robust regulatory frameworks to ensure compliance with EU standards.
The EU Mentoring Group continues to serve as an essential platform for fostering collaboration and exchanging good practices, aiding Moldova’s agricultural administration in aligning with European standards.
