Modernizing the Curriculum of the Veterinary Medicine Faculty

APD’s support on harmonizing with the EU is happening on all fronts. From May 27-30, 2025, APD Moldova organized Professor Dr. Thomas Blaha and Dr. Martin Hartmann, two veterinary and food safety experts to review the curriculum of the Faculty for Veterinary Medicine at the Technical University (TUM) of Moldova.

The Faculty of Veterinary Medicine at the UTM welcomed the German experts, recognizing this initiative as a key milestone in the process of having an EU recognized and modern curriculum.

The two experts conducted an in-depth review of the curriculum of the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine in view of the standards of the European Association of Establishments for Veterinary Education (EAEVE). Their objective was to provide suggestions for modifying the curriculum and institutional academic capacities (e.g., laboratories, dissection rooms, animal clinics) towards reaching these standards.

The academic cooperation promoted by APD Moldova aligns with the Republic of Moldova’s efforts to prepare the next generation of professionals in the agri-food sector for EU accession.
