The 3rd Project Steering Committee of the APD Moldova
The 3rd Project Steering Committee (PSC) of the German-Moldovan Agricultural Policy Dialogue (APD Moldova) took place on March 6. The PSC benefitted from the participation of Minister Ludmila Catlabuga and Secretary General Sergiu Gherciu from the Moldovan Ministry of Agriculgture and Food Industry, but also from Mrs. Cornelia Berns, Mrs. Verena Hedtke, and Mr. Stephan Framke from the Federal Ministry of Agriculture, Food, and Regional Identity of Germany, as well as from Ralf Rogowski from the GFA Consulting Group.
The objective of the PSC was to review and assess the results achieved in 2025 and approve the work plan for 2026. For 2026, the APD will further their support on establishing the Chambers of Agriculture and introduce a new risk management framework for Moldovan agriculture. Planned activities for this year also include the continuation of the EU mentoring groups with expert contributions from the EU Member States, finalizing three Policy briefs on key topics for EU accession, organizing workshops on food promotion, the Agriculture Knowledge and Innovation System (AKIS), and on the working methods of the EU Council. A conference will also be planned in response to the International Year of the Woman Farmer.
The meeting concluded with the confirmation of the project’s continued commitment to supporting the Ministry of Agriculture and Food Industry and other partner institutions in advancing the alignment of Moldova’s agricultural sector with European Union standards and in contributing to the country’s EU accession efforts.
